AR works by means of a 3D virtual interface, which adds additional information to reality. First, a camera captures real images (observed by the user). Then, data (virtual objects, animations, etc.) are added to the user's screen (smartphones, glasses, etc.), in real time, to enrich his or her vision.

Virtual reality or VR is probably the next technological revolution. It is an immersive technique that allows the creation of virtual environments based on visual and auditory projections. At present, VR is mainly used for "situational awareness" (virtual tours, training, games). It relies on the senses, mainly sight, hearing and touch. The user does not only see what he learns, he experiences it.

A VR headset is a customised miniature screen in which 3-dimensional images are displayed (as in the real world). Position sensors record your movements live and match the images viewed in the headset. You are therefore immersed in a virtual world that is very close to reality.

The UX (or "User Experience") represents the emotional feeling of the user during interactions with the interface. In VR, you can interact with your environment by orienting your headset or using controllers (joysticks with laser pointers). You are given choices, which involve actions (e.g. turn right). In addition, each decision influences your game experience (earning points, completing a level, etc.). Thus, you become an actor of your training and retain information much more efficiently.

It is the application of game mechanics with the aim of conveying a message or educating a player. The objective of an educational game or serious game is to improve learning through a playful experience in a non-playful environment. In fact, gamification ("ludification" in French) makes it possible to capture and hold the user's attention in order to improve the memorization of information.

360° video or immersive video is created from real images.  A spherical camera is used to film the environment at 360°. Then, thanks to these images, a virtual reality universe is created in which the user can observe his environment in 360°.  Also, the content can be viewed in an immersive way thanks to a virtual reality headset and the addition of interactions.

Most helmets are recommended for ages 12 or 13 and up. In addition, the experience is easy to use and accessible to a wide audience. However, VR stimulates the senses and can exacerbate a condition, so it is not recommended in cases of medical conditions (e.g. heart disease), psychiatric conditions (e.g. post-traumatic stress disorder), or physical conditions (e.g. age, pregnancy, etc). In case of doubt, we advise you to consult a doctor before an experiment.
